Sunday morning, news and more

We received the gift of more snow overnight! I have to say I am really enjoying winter in Omaha this year. December 2009 set a snowfall record with about 30 inches, a good start (personally, I’m hoping for 80+). This is the perfect end to my vacation (life resumes tomorrow, work, blogging, running, etc..).
Do you have an e-reader? My husband wanted to buy one for me for Christmas but I told him I wouldn’t use it. I’m not quite ready to embrace this technology but my view might have changed as recently as yesterday when I heard Apple is introducing a new gadget that includes a reader later this month. My interest is peaked, even if I only use it once a month!
What I’m reading this week: Yesterday I picked up a copy of The Weight of Heaven from the library. The book cover draws you in, the story keeps you. I’m about 50 pages into the story and I can say I wish I had all day to sit read this book.
This is a book tour book selection for TLC Book Tours - it's truly a gift for those who get to participate in this tour.
Synopsis: When Frank and Ellie Benton lose their only child, seven-year-old Benny, to a sudden illness, the perfect life they had built is shattered. Filled with wrenching memories, their Ann Arbor home becomes unbearable, and their marriage founders. But an unexpected job half a world away offers them an opportunity to start again. Life in Girbaug, India, holds promise—and peril—when Frank befriends Ramesh, a bright, curious boy who quickly becomes the focus of the grieving man's attentions. Haunted by memories of his dead son, Frank is consumed with making his family right—a quest that will lead him down an ever-darkening path with stark repercussions.
Note: I will be back to blogging as usual later this week (Sunday Updates will return next week).
