Camel Book Drive: Can you help?

Last summer we kicked off a campaign to raise money for the Camel Book Mobile in Kenya. I have been collecting books from the Omaha Bookworm’s for months and plan to drop off our donation to Half Price Books this week. We are well on our way to our goal (closer after I drop off the stacks of books gathering in my sons bedroom). 

We could use your help! We are hoping to raise $500 and with February get organized month – why not collect some books sitting on your shelves, sell them and make a donation via paypal or a credit card? EVERY dollar helps, there is no donation too small.

Estimated costs (USD):
- Camel $350
- Western Union $50
- all extra dollars will go towards books in local languages (food for the camels, etc)

What is the Camel Bookmobile? It is a traveling library – the volunteers walk for hours from village to village, using camels to carry books. Teaching the villager’s to read is the primary goal. Click here for more details.

When the goal is reached and we make the donation, all names of companies, blogs, individuals will be noted for the donation (I will include your name when I send the email to the Librarian in Kenya).  Just imagine how excited they will be - we can change lives!
