Chic-Lit Favorites

>> March 21, 2010

Kristi from Seaside Book Nook devoted last week to posting about her favorite chic-lit books, I had so much fun reading the books she enjoys that I thought I would share my favorite books in this genre.

A few years ago my neighbor, a non reader, was so excited about a book release that she actually convinced me she was going to read the book!  She started the book but being a slow reader (a few pages an hour) and having her kids tease her for reading...  she didn't end up finishing it.  She takes pride  in reminding me that she discovered one of my favorite authors though, which makes her happy.

Emily Giffin is known for well written, detailed stories that grab the reader's attention.  I have read all of her books, the first three novels use character 'carry over'.  The main character in the second novel was a character in the first (and so on).  My favorite novel is the one with the green cover, love the one your with.  It would make for a good summer selection for your book club.

Have you read any of her novels?

I can't wait to read her new novel, Heart of the Matter, which will be available May 11th.

Here are a few other authors/book titles that I have enjoyed:
  1. Nicholas Sparks: The Last Song
  2. Meg Cabot: Queen of Babble (series), Boy meets Girl (series)
  3. Jane Porter: Flirting with Forty, Odd Mom Out
  4. Laura Dave: The Divorce Party
Summer is almost here - what will you be reading? Do you have any recommendations for me?
