Weekly Review: March 12

>> March 12, 2010

It’s Friday afternoon, I have been sitting at my laptop since 6:30 this morning so I will keep this short today. I’m prepping for a big meeting at work (scheduled for next Thursday) which has taken up most of my free time this week.

I’m looking forward to spending time outside this weekend, working on the house, running errands, running… the list goes on an on. I love Friday nights, after working out we will BBQ and watch a movie.

Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend? Anything will be more exciting than my plans, but I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend.

Too good to be true: I found a new podcast today, Vicky and Jen. I was listening their interview with the author of Queen Bees and Wannabes (Wiseman), the book behind the movie ‘Mean Girls’, and for some reason the thought that came to me was ‘I really need to read The Girls from Ames’. Just a random thought… a few hours later Lisa from TLC Book Tours emailed me to ask if I wanted to read this book for an upcoming book tour.... strange, but true.  I can't wait to read this book.

I have a busy week planned next week:
- Monday: ANNA read-a-long, discussion for part 2 begins
- Tuesday: That’s how I Blog (8PM EST)
- Wednesday: Manic Mommies Book Club (8PM EST). We will be discussing Why is my mother getting a tattoo? with Jancee Dunn.
- Author interviews and giveaways: I wrapped up a few interviews this morning and hope to post those next week as well. Look for a giveaway too!

It will be a busy week here next week, be sure to check back often!

Finished:
- I finished Alice I have been, just in time to see the movie. The review is just below this post. Did you see the movie? I thought the queen of hearts stole the show (okay… she made me laugh).

- I also finished part 2 of Anna Karenina earlier this week (just in time for the discussion next week)

What I'm reading and what's next:
- Men and Dogs: I’m about a 100 pages in and am enjoying the story. I’m looking forward to finishing this one.

- La’s Orchestra Saves the World: this is a short book so I’m hoping for a quick read. I bought this book back in December and can’t wait to read it.

Awards: Thank you Emily from A Few Good Books for the Lovely Blog Award. I will have to post an award post later this month to dole out the awards but in the meantime, thank you very much!

Book Blogger Hop: Have you heard of this? If not, check it out!  I found some great new sites last week.

What are you reading? Are you looking forward to reading anything special?
