It was an amazing weekend in northern NJ, with temperatures close to 60 degrees on Saturday. A perfect day for a long run, wearing shorts and a t-shirt!
The trail was busier than I have ever seen it, mountain bikers at every turn... all this traffic made for a messy/muddy run. I lost my footing several times and wiped out once, running the last four miles covered in mud. Thank goodness I walked away with only a few scrapes and my left thigh is bruised.
This weekend I will be running my long run... wait for it... in Paris!
Fitness challenges:
- Get back to gym (3-5 times a week)
- Run EVERY day in 2012 (366 days)
- 100 consecutive pushups (prep for Tough Mudder)
Events:
- NJ Ultra March 24
- PA Tough Mudder May 12
Accountability:
- Last week: Big mileage jump this week, 31 miles!
- Stretching: It's a must these days but I can always do more.
- Nutrition: After cleaning out the pantry, throwing away every temptation, you won't find anything unhealthy here. I rely on protein shakes and naked juice for nutrition... they are my go-to foods.
This week:
- Pushup goal of 100: I can do 31 consecutive push ups, up 5 from last week.
- Ultra training distances: 3, 4, 6, 8, 12
