Life: time to get organized!

>> January 06, 2012

The holiday's are over and life is adjusting back to normal.  I have been busy cleaning out drawers and closets. Getting organized.

This afternoon I'm spending the day doing loads and loads of laundry. The aftermath of holiday guests and prepping for next week's company.

Potential inspiration room!
Getting Organized: Do you get an overwhelming urge to get organized in January?  I do!  I recently read an article about the recommendations associated with the Chinese New Year - opening doors to let good energy into your home, clearing out the bad energy from the previous year.

With the last of the Holiday decorations down, it's time to straighten up spaces in my home that have been neglected since early fall.

I recently added The Inspired Room to my reader, I love seeing her collection of articles and photo's.  She's done the hard work for me, I could spend hours clicking from her blog... click here to see 12 creative rooms for organization.

Laundry Room: Mine has been taken over by Lily (the dog).  It's not a big room to begin with and after putting an extra large kennel in there... I have lost my space.  This weekend I'm planning to reorganize, making room to fold clothes without carrying a hamper to another room.

While looking for inspiration I had an epiphany... the cupboards above my washer/dryer are empty.

So I have a plan.  It involves a trip to Home Depot but this weekend I will get this organized.

Inspiration for bonus room!

Bonus Room: Do you have one of these 'odd' rooms?  It's a finished space above the garage, it's cold, big and where I toss store anything and everything that I don't care to look at.  I'm going to make part of it Christmas storage.  I'm also interested in making a craft area up there.

I'm not a crafter but I would like to keep gift wrap, mailing stuff, etc... in one place.  This seems like a great solution, one that will keep me organized!

How do you keep your family organized?
